our impact
ATTUNED was developed by educators and clinical staff at the Lucy Daniels Center, home to a therapeutic school and out-patient clinic serving children ages birth through age 11. ATTUNED is not a curriculum; it is a guide to reflective practice that provides tools for preschool and early elementary educators in three major areas:
relationships
modules
Developing increased awareness and deeper understanding of the relationships that support optimal child development to better support key relationships
communication
modules
Cultivating and implementing the practice of intentional, reflective communication
environment
modules
Identifying, examining, and applying the elements of school environments that create emotional safety
our training modules and resources
relationships
Whether the relationship is teacher-child, teacher-parent, child-child, or teacher-teacher, all impact the daily experiences in a child’s life. Children learn and grow in the context of deep, sustained, and nurturing relationships that support secure attachment and model healthy interactions. Examine the attitudes, assumptions, respect, and responsibilities inherent in the development of trusting and meaningful relationships.

The development of ATTUNED included contributions from many individuals from Lucy Daniels Center, a therapeutic educational setting and mental health assessment and treatment facility serving children birth through age 11 and their families. Support for ATTUNED includes contributions and grant funding from The Lucy Daniels Foundation and Z. Smith Reynolds.
