About Attuned

Attuned translates decades of clinical wisdom into practical, heart-centered training for the modern classroom.

The Legacy

From the Lucy Daniels Center

Rooted in Clinical Excellence For over 30 years, the Lucy Daniels Center has been a beacon of support for children and families in North Carolina. As the largest non-profit provider of mental health services for children in the region, we have seen firsthand that the most successful learning happens when a child feels emotionally safe, seen, and understood.

Attuned was born from this legacy. We realized that while teachers are given endless curriculum checklists, they are rarely given the emotional tools they need to navigate the complex relationships at the heart of their work.

Why Attuned?

More than a Curriculum – A Way of Being

Our focus is on the how, not just the what. We don’t replace your curriculum, we enhance it by focusing on the three pillars that define a healthy classroom:

  • Environment: Creating spaces that feel emotionally safe.
  • Communication: Building bridges through reflective expression.
  • Relationships: Fostering the authentic bonds that make growth possible.

Our Philosophy

What it Means to be ATTUNED

The Heart of Our Work The name ATTUNED reflects our core methodology: Affective Teacher Training in Understanding and Nurturing Emotional Development. We are dedicated to:

Sensitivity

Meeting children where they are, developmentally and emotionally.

Empowerment

Giving teachers the confidence to handle challenging situations with grace.

Inclusivity

Ensuring every child – including those who struggle with transitions or outdoor play – has a path to success.
